Specialized Managed Care

Wingspan Takes on New Role
as OhioRISE CME in Lorain and Medina Counties

Agency is uniquely positioned to serve 1,400 vulnerable children annually

OhioRISE System of Care
OhioRISE (Resilience through Integrated Systems and Excellence) is the state’s first highly integrated care program for youth with complex behavioral health and multi-system needs. Designed to improve care and outcomes, OhioRISE helps children and families navigating the intricate systems of mental and behavioral health treatment by placing families at the center of care planning. Emphasizing parent voice and choice, the program supports caregivers in selecting treatment options and using community resources. Depending on the youth’s needs, they will receive one of three levels of care coordination.

Tiers two and three of this service (moderate and intensive) will be delivered by Care Management Entities (CME) across the state. Wingspan has been named the CME for Lorain and Medina counties.  For information, contact Wingspan's CME Director Joyce DeMichele, MSSA, LISW-S, 216.320.8646 or demichelej@wingspancg.org.

Connecting Families with Resources Close to Home
As an OhioRISE CME, Wingspan will provide eligible families with high-fidelity wraparound services that link them with mental and behavioral health providers, community-based services, and formal and informal networks of support in their communities.

With locations in Lorain and Medina already providing outpatient therapy, psychiatry services, substance abuse treatment, after school and school-based programs to youth in need, Wingspan is uniquely positioned to deliver services and support to the more than 1,400 Lorain and Medina county children anticipated to need services annually. These young people will connect with Wingspan and OhioRISE through involvement with the juvenile justice system, addiction and mental health services, child protective services, school resources and other touchpoints.
