As there is no known “cause of” or “cure for” for autism, the best approach to addressing the autism epidemic is the development and broad dissemination of effective treatment resources and interventions that promise to dramatically improve the quality of life for individuals with autism and their families.

To that end, Monarch Teaching Technologies is developing the Visual Language Learning Solution (VLLS) for children and adolescents on the autism spectrum. The VLLS is transforming a uniquely effective visual language curriculum into the first interactive, web-based lesson creation and delivery system for the classroom and practical instruction of individuals with autism.

Based on five years of research and collaboration between Monarch School, Children’s Hospital Boston and Harvard Medical School’s teaching hospital, the VLLS promises to revolutionize and democratize the education and treatment of children with autism.  If successful at Monarch, the software will be adapted for widespread use by schools, clinicians, and parents of children with autism.
